The Courtyard of the Podestà
Inside the tower is the Courtyard of the Podestà (translated 'Chief Magistrate' or 'Governor'). Built in 1325 it is an unique brick colonnade with large trifora (three-arched) windows. The government included a series coats of arms.
This angle emphasizes the differences in various brick patterns, which somehow manage to coordinate.
